Chapter : The Script

I stayed up all night typing my first draft for my script writing class. It was pretty amusing since it’s about a love story of a couple and I have no intention of getting in too much of the details. Let’s just say A met B fell in love, but A forced into arrange marriage. So that’s about it. I pity my boyfriend though because I forced him to stay up late just to help me construct the story and also thinking of dialogues that would be said by B.

Fortunately, my story is technically a love story so the lines that were to be said are pretty cheesy so Jin is the PERFECT candidate (and I literally mean perfect) to come up with cheesy lines. Unfortunately, his lines are so cheesy that it sends chills down my spine and I had to tell him that I don’t want my script to be having such corny words.

I think I have hurt his feelings when I said that because I know for a fact that he enjoys saying cheesy lines to me which half…okay, I should say MOST of the time I would destroy the moment by saying something random. Let me give you an example, I can’t think of any cheesy lines at the moment but I will give it a shot. When is Jin when you need him?

“You look really beautiful, I’m so happy that I’m together with you,” says Jin.

“Huh? Look, bird! Weeeee!” I replied.

Okay, that is the most awful example I have given. Even typing those words just gave me the heebie jeebies. But technically the situation would be almost as similar as that. Interesting, no?

Anyway, back to my story…Jin was helping me out with my script and we had a few laughs because I was explaining what is happening and he would try to help me out constructing the sentences. I don’t know why during that night, my English was pretty much primary school level because I have no idea what words to use and how to construct my sentences. Thank God for Jin!

Anyway, there is this one part of my story where I’m suppose to make A and B falling in love together and I have no idea how to establish that scene and was asking Jin for ideas. It was really funny because there is the brushing of hands, the looking into the eyes, the accidental grabbing hand stuffs (which I actually wrote all of them, mind you) is such a typical thing that I normally see in series or movies.

So after we completed that tedious part, I noticed that Jin was getting really tired and he has classes the next day so I shooed him off to bed. I quickly finished up my script and by the time I was done it was already 4 a.m. I watch a little video then I drifted off to dreamland.

Come to think about it, I have to present that stupid script after my one week break in front of so many people. Maybe I can hide myself in a tiny hole somewhere in class when they are reading my script. It’s because my lecturer is going to read it out loud and volunteers will be reading the dialogues that I have written loudly. i mean, typing the script myself gives me the heebie jeebies. Imagine hearing other people reading it out loud? I would probably die of embarrassment. Why didn’t I do something much simpler and more entertaining or something?

Chapter : Last Sunday

Since in my previous blog entry I have stated that I would start doing some photo blogging but not really that often because it depends whether I do remember to bring my camera and be all trigger happy to take pictures on every single thing I do. I respect the people who have the determination to take pictures to continue their photo blog. I guess I’m more of the “text” person, typing loads of words making people who read my blog getting an eye sore.

Anyway, last Sunday, I joined Patrick and Min Wye and also their friends, John and Arthur, twin brothers for dim sum. Well, at first I was reluctant to go because the previous night I stayed up late just to complete my animatics since I would be going out for a mooncake party the next night. But nevertheless, I just ignored my tiredness and sleepiness and joined the for morning dim sum! And it was yummy, though not as yummy as the dim sum’s in Malaysia.

The sky was really lovely that morning; you don’t get to see a sky so blue back in Malaysia.

Isn't it lovely?

While fiddling with my camera in the car, thinking that this would be my first photo blog entry I decided to be all trigger happy to take pictures and decided to take a picture of my two housemates.

Upon arriving at our destination, the first dim sum place we were suppose to go was at Sunny Park somewhere in Sunnybank. I never had been into that restaurant before because the first time when they brought me, it was closed for renovation. When it reopened, I never expected for it to be so pack!

Look at that line!

People were actually waiting for hours just to get a table and also they were holding ticket numbers waiting anxiously for their number to be called. When we arrived there, the number we had was 70 something and I caught a glance of the number being called, and it was 40 something…I think.

Well, instead of focusing on the crowded place, something interesting caught my eye.

The king of crabs!

Have you seen such a HUGE crab? I have not. I really wanted to eat it because of its size and assuming that it would be superbly delicious if it was cooked in butter and curry…butter curried crab. Yum! My mouth is salivating already!

We decided to leave the place and head off to another dim sum place in Sunnybank. It was the Manors.

Before leaving to the Manors, Patrick was laughing at something amusing. This was the reason why.

Read the sign and you might understand why.

It meant for small cars, but I guess this person literally took it seriously.

When I entered the restaurant, I barely said a word and held up my hand showing there were five people including me that would be sitting at a table. Sadly enough, the waiter immediately spoke to me in Cantonese which reminds me of my days when I was studying back in The One Academy. Walking around in the mall and random tourists would come up to me and ask for directions either in Mandarin or Cantonese and I wouldn’t be able to reply and I would answer their questions in English instead. They just looked at me funny and run away. Such courtesy, don’t you think so?

I have been to the Manors before for late night supper I can recall with the rest of my housemates. The environment is very different from the dim sum place back in Malaysia though. If you recall back in Malaysia, people walking around holding trays and approaching your table and asks what dim sum you want and such but here, they don’t. Instead, they plop down a menu in front of us and we order by ticking a piece of paper.

Inside the Manors

The people that came for dim sum

I totally forgotten to take pictures of the food because I was busy eating them all. Well, the boys were talking about their stuffs so I decided to focus on shoving food down my throat. No wonder I have gained so much weight. It’s depressing. Anyway, I managed to take a picture of my plate after my meal.

Thank you for the meal!

Patrick asked me to put some food inside the Tupperware because he wanted to bring some lunch for my sister. It was all steamy because the food was hot and the little red colour thing on top of it was supposed to be let the steam “out”. It doesn’t seem to be working and I felt that the food will be all soggy from all the steam. My poor sister, she gets to eat soggy dim sum.

Soggy dim sum

After that, my camera died so I didn’t take any pictures after our breakfast. We went to visit my sister where she worked and I bought some lovely eye shadows! One was the purple shade, one was bluish-grey and the other is brown. we also went to Yuen’s market to get some groceries and I was dropped off at home to get ready for to meet up with my friends for mooncake party!

That somewhat summarized my Sunday and photo blogging seriously takes a lot of effort! I had to resize the picture because I didn’t want it to be so massively huge and taking up all the space and had to arranged them according to order because I uploaded it all in one page and it took me some time to moved them to their respective order.

Oh well, I seriously need to exercise now because I realized that my stomach is huge and when I bend my head down to look at my shoes, I feel a double chin. I’m chubby! I’m so going to lose weight now. Maybe starving myself and when I’m feeling faint, I would consume a cube of cheese! That line was so ripped off from the movie, Devil wears Prada. But heck, I wouldn’t be starving myself to that extend! Sheesh, I love my junk food and food itself! Damn. When I return to Malaysia, I would be a size of a tiny blimp. Meep!

Chapter : Late Entry

I must say that I’m getting really lazy in updating my blog. Well, nothing really exciting happens to me these days so there is really nothing for me to write about. The only thing that happens was my 21st birthday and that was a blast! I had loads of fun and tons of presents and little red packets. Anyway, I was sick for the past 2 days and it was nasty. All I could do was lie in bed, sleep and get up to drink some water and sleep some more. I literally felt like a pig. I had no appetite to eat at all so I forced some food down my throat to avoid getting gastric. But I’m feeling better now, proven that I can actually type an entry for my blog now. Things in university are alright I guess I’m mostly in the 2nd year classes and one in the 1st year classes. I don’t really like the 1st year subject I’m doing because I have no idea how to do it nor understand the entire subject is about. We are suppose to be reading the visual of a certain image and interpret it how we look at the visual or something like that. It is really hard to do since the lecturer said there isn’t right or wrong in this class. Well, I guess it is suppose to be easier since there isn’t right or wrong…right? I’m confusing myself.

Oh! Well, I have gotten a lot of cool stuffs from my 21st birthday! It was really awesome! Well, my boyfriend gave me a PSP slim!! One of the coolest gifts ever! Well, it was an amusing thing when he gave it to me because when he gave it to me; I was in awe and didn’t bother opening it because I was like a PSP SLIM IN MY HAND!!! So yeah, but he was disappointed though because he said that his plan fail because I didn’t notice that the PSP itself wasn’t inside the box. I was oblivious to it as usual. But he wanted a PSP himself but he spent all his money just to get me one because I wanted one. I felt so bad to the extent that I wanted to hide myself in the corner and grow mushrooms for eternity.

Anyway, moving on…I can’t remember when but it happen months back and I told Jin about it.

I was on the train back home and I was busy playing my PSP and was standing next to a young married couple talking to an elderly guy which I assumed is their close friend. They were talking about how men when they make a mistake they will always say the three “godly” words and there are always in order.

  1. I’m sorry.
  2. Please forgive me.
  3. I love you.

I nearly laughed my head off because the young guy (the husband) said, “Since our wives know about it, we could just save time and go 1, 2, and 3.”

His wife replied, “If he says that, he is going to be sleeping on the couch.”

I found it so amusing and strangely true when I was telling this little story to Jin because whenever he makes a mistake he would say that in the EXACT order. Then he decided to change it a little because he wanted to be different and unique…but I can’t really remember but I’m thinking it goes like this

  1. I apologize.
  2. I beg for your forgiveness.
  3. I worship you. (or was it I worship the ground you step upon)

I have no idea because I started laughing because deep in my mind, I rather go for the non-extravagant words. I realized that my blog is constantly filled with words and I was planning that one day I might just add pictures of the daily life I live here in Brisbane. Who knows, maybe it would be interesting to see pictures instead of words once in a while, right?
